Learn to Crawl
“Hey,” the vampire called and knocked softly on the door.
Yunho ran a hand through his hair before he rested his elbows on his knees, and his face in his hands. He could feel his face was hot, burning with embarrassment.
“Yunho,” Micky’s soft voice called.
The young man folded his hands against his mouth as he stared at the wall. How was he supposed to face them now? They’d been reading his mind this whole time, and he didn’t even know it. How could Jaejoong not tell him something like this? Then again, he’d never asked and the issue had never actually come up. But Jaejoong had put the necklace on him to protect him, so he’d known. Why hadn’t he done it sooner? Why didn’t anyone tell him the necklace would protect him? And damnit, why couldn’t anyone be honest?
“I’m sorry.”
Micky sounded so sincere, it actually made Yunho feel bad. He rubbed his face with a sigh. This really wasn’t fair. For days, the vampires had been reading his thoughts and feelings and he didn’t even know how they felt about things. Seeing Micky again, he’d been incredibly angry. Not just about how he’d left Jaejoong, but how they’d simply just abandoned the situation. Hearing Micky’s side of the story made him feel better now that he knew Micky felt that he didn’t have a choice. He’d made a stupid choice, but Yunho couldn’t fault him after he’d apologized and decided to make up for it.
He’d liked Micky before they left. Even knowing that he was a vampire didn’t stop Yunho from respecting the fact that he treated Jaejoong and others well. His grandfather’s blind anger over the vampires actually backfired and made him rebel and try to accept them. Because of that, he’d actually gotten to know the vampires to find that they really weren’t so bad—after you got over the fact that they drank blood to survive.
Finding out that Micky had drank Jaejoong’s blood had made him angry though. They had agreed not to drink human blood, or kill humans. But he just couldn’t stand up against Jaejoong being so logical about it. Then again, how logical was it to let your vampire lover drink your blood? Micky could have lost control at any time and bled Jaejoong dry. Maybe Jaejoong liked the thrill; he liked that kind of thing. Why did he always give in when it came to Jaejoong?
Yunho knew Micky was still outside the door, waiting patiently; silently. He sighed. He wasn’t really sure what to think of the vampires. He liked them, and yet he didn’t. He knew his dislike was residual from how they’d hurt Jaejoong, but why the hell did he like them? Was it because he’d initially been attracted to Changmin? Yunho swallowed a growl. He was still attracted to Changmin. Hell, he was attracted to all of them! Was that wrong? It had to be. He knew he shouldn’t be—he was in a relationship with Jaejoong! Would that sort of thing bother his lover?
…maybe Micky would know.
Yunho glanced at the door as he tried to decide whether he should open the door or not. He would have to open it eventually, but maybe facing one of them would be better than facing all of them at the same time. With a sigh, he stood and made his way to the door and quietly pulled it open to see a brooding Micky glance up. Yunho gestured for the vampire to come in and closed the door behind once he was inside.
“I really am sorry,” Micky said softly from behind the young man who still faced the door. “Your mind is just very… loud.”
The last made Yunho actually feel bad about it. “You couldn’t help it. I shouldn’t blame you, but I’m just… I guess I’m embarrassed,” Yunho blushed again as he turned. “I didn’t realize you guys could hear what I was thinking. I thought that was all private.”
“I’m not going to tell anyone.” Micky shifted uncomfortably. “I wouldn’t tell Jaejoong, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
“Why is this all so damn complicated?” Yunho growled. “Person A should be with Person B and they should be happy together, right? This is so—confusing!”
Micky chuckled dryly. “You’re telling me. I never thought I’d like you as much as you like me.”
“You—what?” Yunho blinked then stared as the vampire seemed to be blushing. Vampires didn’t blush, right?
“I’m supposed to hate you, mostly because you’re a werewolf to begin with, and you’re sleeping with Jaejoong.” The vampire shook his head. “But I find myself liking you more every day. You’re a nice guy, and that’s a really awful thing to say, but you are! And you’re able to see Jaejoong as more than just someone you sleep with, you see him as a full partner in everything you do.” Micky smiled wryly. “Most people spend their entire lives having never learned to think of their lover as an equal.”
“I think we both fell into that trap at first,” Yunho murmured as he remembered when he thought he had to be protecting his lover.
“But Jaejoong wouldn’t accept that, and neither should we. He’s strong enough to love both of us, so maybe we can both love him,” Micky suggested quietly.
“That doesn’t explain why I like you!” Yunho snapped and moved to pin the surprised vampire against the wall. “Why am I attracted to you? It doesn’t make any sense!”
“Our feelings rarely make sense,” Micky replied calmly as Yunho felt the vampire’s cool hands on his cheeks. “Changmin could tell you that any day.”
Yunho glanced down for a moment before looking up again to catch the vampire’s dark eyes. Why did his chest get tight when he found their gazes? Why did he find himself falling for them when he already had someone?
“Would it make you feel better if I told you I feel the same way?”
Yunho didn’t have to ask. He knew by the honesty in Micky’s eyes. That was when he realized how close they were and that Micky’s thumb was lightly stroking his cheek. He didn’t know how it started, but by the time he realized they were kissing, Micky’s arms were around his neck, pulling him down into the deep kiss. His hands held the vampire’s body close as he knew he shouldn’t. And Micky just hummed contentedly into the kiss, which wasn’t helping Yunho’s resolve at all. By the time they finally parted, Yunho had to swallow and force himself to stop hyperventilating. If Jaejoong found out…
…what would he do?
