9: The Kill

Bright and early the next morning, Jae woke to Yunho shaking him and with a half hearted grumble, he got up to go on his run with Yunho. He couldn’t even find the spirit to complain as Yunho’s kiss woke him fully. Once back, they showered and continued packing up boxes until Yunho’s room was barer than he’d ever seen it.

“Brings back memories, only backwards,” Yunho admitted once they’d finished with almost everything. Hyebin finally dragged her sorry butt out of bed close to noon and began to help them finish up and tape boxes shut. Later, they started to stack some of the boxes near the living room door so they could actually maneuver in Yunho’s room until the next day, and to make moving them outside faster. Jae spent that afternoon reading one of his English books as Yunho had a meeting with his pack.

That night was spent—quietly so as not to disturb the rest of the house—very candidly exploring each other’s personal space. Jae never felt more comfortable in his own skin. They didn’t keep one another up late though, because they had a long day ahead of them when morning arrived.

Though Yunho’s alarm clock had already been packed, the moving truck ended up being an hour late, so when they finally woke they didn’t have to rush. Two showers and multiple visitors later, Jae was helping Hyebin and Yunho’s father make food for all of Yunho’s friends that had showed up to help. Moving would be a cinch with the entire pack and other friends there to help.

Yunho was in his room taking his desk apart with Marcel and Jae didn’t miss Hyebin peeking in from time to time to ask if they needed anything. When Marcel appeared to steal their breakfast and startled Hyebin, Jae almost burst out laughing at how red she turned after he walked away.

“Should I say anything?” he asked and bit his lip in amusement when she glared at him.

“No, or else Yunho will give him some sort of talk or tell him to stay away from me.” She washed her hands in the sink and sighed as Jae just grinned.

“I’m sure there are plenty of guys in California who are totally tripping over you without Yunho there to stop them,” he offered as she wiped her hands.

“The guys in California are kind of cocky,” she muttered and turned to lean back against the counter with a sigh. It seemed that she’d had some bad experiences. “Sometimes I wonder how Yunho turned out so kind.”

“He had a little sister like you to take care of,” Jae told her and poked her arm as she laughed.

“I have a feeling it was someone else that made him the way he is,” she said softly, her eyes catching his in a way that made his face heat with pride. She reached up to gently pinch his cheek and they silently agreed with their eyes to not tease.

Everything was set into motion when the truck arrived and organization snapped into place as Yunho’s friends all began to move the boxes and items onto the truck. Jae was of course in the thick of it and wasn’t going to cop out just because he was now Yunho’s boyfriend. A couple of the guys had stared at the necklace Jae now wore in surprise when they saw him that afternoon, but otherwise kept their mouths shut. Jae liked it that way. Just when the moving was getting into full swing, Yunho and a couple of his packmates stopped. He sniffed the air and glanced around the area.

“What is it?” Jae asked as he stopped to slowly set a box on the back of the truck.

“A vampire, moving this way.” He frowned. “But I think I also sense another that’s very far off.”

Everyone except Yunho jumped when a puff of dirt was sent into the air as someone stopped in the middle of the clearing. Jae stared in surprise as Kumi stopped about thirty feet off and glanced around at her captive audience. He heard some of the guys murmur before a few others growled, knowing exactly what she was by her scent. Yunho’s frown was deepening and Jae knew he had to do something as people were taking defensive stances. She looked relieved when she set her eyes on Jae, but he wondered why.

“Whoa.” Jae moved between the group and Kumi as he put his arms out and backed toward her. “She’s a friend.” Most of the wolves still looked wary as Yunho crossed his arms. He had to know she was the scent he’d picked up on Jae.

“What do you want?” Yunho asked evenly and loud enough for her to hear from where she stood.

“I came to solicit Jaejoong’s services,” she replied, a smirk tugging on her lips, seemingly amused by their reaction to her. Well, she was a rather dangerous vampire to begin with. Yunho’s eyes flicked to Jae who left his spot between the two and walked over to Kumi. Leave it to Kumi to make an entrance, he thought with a roll of his eyes.

“Do you really need me?” he asked quietly once he was within hearing range. He could hear footsteps coming toward them and assumed it was Yunho.

She frowned at him and he mirrored it in confusion. “It took me forever to find you,” she muttered. “I had to track him to find you.”

“What?” Jae’s frown deepened. “What are you talking about?”

Kumi shook her head and waved a hand. “We can figure that out later. Time is of the essence. I was hunting a vampire around here that’s after the Parks. He keeps slipping away from me and I want to catch him while I know where he is,” she admitted with annoyance that made her toss her hair over her shoulder. “I think he has the same power as you.”

“So many vampires with extra powers?” he asked and wondered if Jin was breaking out the best he had as spies.

“What’s going on?” Yunho stopped next to them and crossed his arms.

Kumi sneezed and looked him over. “You smell different now that I’m up close.”

“Shapeshifter,” he specified and she hummed in admiration.

“Much better than the real thing,” she replied before turning to Jae. “He’s been around here for a day or so, but he knows I’m on his trail, and every time I get close, he disappears from my senses.”

“And you think I’ll be able to find him because I have the same power?” Jae asked as she nodded and he thought on it. Could his power cancel out theirs? Or maybe since he could make barriers, he would sense theirs.

“So there is another one out there?” Yunho asked.

“I came for him, not for you,” she retorted as he frowned in annoyance. It seemed she had less patience when she was in a crunch. “He needs some field experience—Oh, right,” she paused in realization. “You haven’t seen his training.”

“Training? Is that what you’ve been doing on Sundays?” Yunho asked, his expression unreadable as Jae nodded. He wished Yunho would say something non-leader-like so he could understand what he was thinking.

“Yes,” Jae said firmly. Conveying confidence would hopefully lead Yunho to trust his judgment.

“You have your guns?” Kumi asked.

Jae nodded. “In my car. After I heard about the killing in Belltown, I carried them near at least, as much as I could.”

“Good idea,” she nodded approvingly. “Go grab them and let’s get to hunting.”

“I’m coming,” Yunho demanded as Jae trotted over to his car to get the weapons.

“Just don’t get in my way.” Kumi sniffed teasingly.

“Please, miss, don’t underestimate me.”

Jae glanced back as he opened his trunk to see Yunho flashing Kumi a grin as she flirted with him. He rolled his eyes. She’d flirt with anything that walked—werewolf or not. He pulled his jacket off so he could slip the holster on and took his time loading the guns before he put his jacket back on. He hoped two magazines would be enough to take down another vampire. For a moment, he paused and wondered if he should wear the necklace Yunho gave him. It had fallen off once when they were playing volleyball at the beach in California and they dug around for half an hour before they found it. Worried that it might fall off in a fight, Jae untied it and went to Aaron to ask him to look after it. After getting a promise, he also handed over his car keys and thanked the young man before he apologized to everyone for having to leave.

As he walked back to the two, he saw a newfound respect in Yunho’s eyes and was pleased. But he was confused by the thoughtful look Kumi was giving him.

“What is it?” he asked.

She shook her head then and reached into her pocket. “Nothing.” Kumi then handed him a new vial of the dose. He took it and opened it without thinking to see Yunho grimace and wrinkle his nose.

“What is that?” he asked as he eyed the glass tube.

“This is why I smell like a vampire to you,” Jae told him and downed the liquid before Yunho could stop him. He hissed at the taste and grabbed Yunho’s arm to stay upright. He heard his lover ask if he was okay and nodded. It took him a little while, but soon he was starting to feel better and began to notice his senses enhanced. He stood up straight and looked at Yunho, the bright sun making him squint at the shocked face.

“Red eyes…” Yunho murmured in disbelief. Once he was over his initial shock, Yunho scowled and Jae watched his anger sink in. With a turn of his heel, he stalked back over to his pack. Jae had to wonder how odd the red eyes looked with his spiked blonde hair.

“Bet you ain’t getting laid tonight.” Kumi smirked.

“Shut up,” Jae hissed, feeling like he’d betrayed Yunho.

Yunho marched back to them after getting his friends to keep loading the truck. “Let’s get going,” he announced and unbuttoned his shirt to take it off and tuck part of it in the back pocket of his pants. If they’d been in a different situation, Jae might have admired his lover’s build, but he looked to Kumi instead.

“Just stay out of my way and don’t mess anything up.” Kumi leveled him a glare. “If you can’t think of him as an equal, you better start learning.” He eyes flicked to Jae before she turned and walked away.

Yunho glanced away at the implication before he glared at her back. Jae watched him bristle for a moment before he followed after the vampire. Jae sighed in exasperation and took up the rear. Yunho didn’t hold his anger for long. He caught up to the vampire and when she suggested he change, he didn’t even argue. Jae watched in surprise as Yunho stopped for a moment to concentrate and—FOOM!—there stood a werewolf in his place. He shook out his fur and turned his gaze to Jae, who could now smell his lover’s specific scent. Kumi might not like it, but Jae found it interesting—a sort of earthy, wild scent.

He was at Yunho’s side in half a second, curious about his other senses as he brought a hand up to touch the fur. Yunho jerked back in surprise when he appeared, but Jae ignored it as his fingers threaded through the fur. It felt a little rougher than Aaron’s fur, but Jae attributed it to his heightened senses. He didn’t mind, it felt nice either way. He heard a low pitched chuckle and glanced up at Yunho’s dark eyes, seeing amusement.

“We should go,” Kumi prompted them and Jae glanced over, having completely forgotten she was there. Her gaze didn’t judge or tease. Jae had a feeling she wished she had what they did, but they didn’t get to say anything as Kumi sped off and the two moved quickly to follow.

They’d gone quite a ways before Kumi suddenly stopped and Jae came up beside her. “Did you pick him up…” he trailed off as he felt like he could sense someone.

“That way,” she pointed to the northwest and Yunho nodded as Jae confirmed mentally that he was picking someone up from that direction. Jae took the lead then, slowing their speed by half so he could take his time if he had to concentrate on it. They were about halfway to the area the vampire seemed to reside in when Jae lost him. He slowed to a stop as Kumi cursed and Yunho growled. Jae let out a huff of annoyance as he understood their frustration and closed his eyes. He could do this.

He built up his own mental shields as a precaution before he let his senses spread; aiming for the area he’d last sensed the vampire in. Sweeping over the area a few times, Jae felt discouraged when he couldn’t sense a thing. He cursed softly and persisted, sweeping the area one more time—and then he noticed a small disturbance. He used his power to go over the area again, then once more to confirm his suspicions. There was something reflecting back at him, and within this reflection there was an area of nothingness. He wondered how he’d missed it before, but it was very subtle. Could Kumi even pick it up?

“Where you sensed him before, carefully sweep over that area, specifically that spot and tell me if you pick up anything,” Jae suggested. He could hear Kumi grumbling as he studied the shield in his mind and wondered if he could replicate it. Nibbling on his lip, Jae took a bit of time to build a new outer shield to mimic the one he sensed and heard a gasp to his left.

“How did you do that?” Kumi exclaimed as he cracked an eye open with a smirk.

“Feels like I don’t exist?” he asked as the other two nodded. “Good, because I found him.”

“Haha! I knew it!” Kumi smacked him on the back and hooted with a jump. “Time to go hunting.” She grinned evilly as he returned it. “Got an idea?”

Jae nodded. “It looks like he’s just sitting in the same spot with a shield up to confuse us and watch if we pass his position,” he explained as Kumi let an expletive slip. “I’ll go in first and catch him off guard with the assumption that he’ll sit still. I’ll wait for you two come in behind me. He’ll think you’re going to pass by and we can… capture him?” he asked, wondering exactly what Kumi had in mind.

“Capture, question and then dispatch,” she confirmed with a nod. Jae looked to Yunho who shrugged. He didn’t seem to care if a vampire died, so Jae ignored it and reinforced the new shield he’d just built.

“See you there,” he gave them a wink before he departed. He took a route that had him half on land, half in the trees, spending some time in the air as he wasn’t sure if he should be on the ground. He had sensed that the vampire was above the ground, so he assumed the other was monitoring from the air when they were supposed to pass by in pursuit. That and he sort of liked moving around above the ground. It seemed freer up in the trees; like he was flying.

As he approached, he slowed down and moved carefully so as not to alert the other vampire to his presence. He quickly flipped himself up to a high branch and stood motionless as he closed his eyes. The nothingness was still in the same spot and he hoped his approach wasn’t sensed. He carefully and quickly peeked around the tree trunk to assess positions of the branches and knew if he kicked off another branch on his tree, he’d be able to hit the other vampire and knock him into the air quickly and easily. He’d never know what hit him.

Jae waited patiently as he sensed his friends’ approach and readied himself. Just as they stopped below, he went into action. He jumped over and pushed off another branch to fly toward the other vampire, the wind whipping by as he came into focus, the surprise on his face driving Jae to continue. Just as planned, he knocked the other vampire out of the tree, but they fought as they made their way to the ground and Jae realized as the other snapped he couldn’t get bitten or the venom would render him useless to the others. As he struggled to stay out of range and keep the vampire in his grip, he could feel the ground rushing up toward them. With a growl, he punched the vampire as a last ditch effort, catching him just right to shift himself on top. He grabbed the vampire’s upper arms and readied himself as they hit the ground with a loud THUD accompanied by a few cracking sounds as the vampire screamed angrily in pain. Jae had broken the vampire’s arms with the impact, but he wasn’t without pain himself. The hit had rattled his bones, his joints protesting loudly as he fought to keep the thrashing vampire down.

Kumi held her dagger up to the vampire’s throat and that stopped his struggling. The vampire caught sight of Yunho then and cursed in shock as he looked over all of them.

“You’re working with a wolf?” he asked in confusion. “Did you order him to track me?”

Jae grinned as he heard Yunho growl out a chuckle. “He doesn’t take orders.”

“I’ll take over,” Kumi said, her voice dark as she leaned over and placed a deep bite on the vampire’s neck. He hissed in pain and Jae watched as he tried to fight her venom, a losing battle as his head lolled back as he eventually gave in. He knew what that felt like.

Kumi took Jae’s place when she disengaged and took over questioning the vampire, getting all of the normal information out of him—he was Jin’s servant, he was here to look for the Parks, all of the usual. Jae moved off to the side since he knew Kumi could handle the vampire by herself, as she had planned to take him down on her own anyway. Jae ignored most of it as he looked around the forest. He wasn’t exactly sure where they were, but somehow he knew where they were in relation to Yunho’s home.

He heard a whuff of air and turned to see Yunho had turned back to his normal self as Kumi had the situation well under control. Jae had to smile at the way he brushed the hair he’d shed off of his jeans. Yunho glanced up and gave him a nervous smile before he looked away. It made Jae frown and he moved closer.

“This bothers you?” he asked as Yunho fidgeted then nodded. “Why?”

Yunho’s lips twisted as he searched for the words. “I thought he left because he didn’t want you to turn into a vampire. And here you are some kind of pseudo-vampire.” He glanced at Kumi. “It’s like he left for nothing.”

Jae glanced away, annoyed and hurt. “They left because they didn’t want me to get hurt again. Stupid lot of them, leaving me unable to defend myself.”

“You have us,” Yunho murmured.

“I’m sick of relying on everyone, Yunho,” he grumbled, his irritation bubbling to the surface. “Why do I have to let everyone defend me while I sit here like a helpless idiot? Why can’t I use what is at my disposal to help and keep people from thinking I’m a liability? I don’t like feeling useless,” he said fervently, sick of being treated like he was breakable.

Yunho huffed and stared him in the eyes as he pressed his lips into a thin line. Jae could tell he didn’t like it at all, and he really didn’t like that it was out of his control. He supposed it was because Yunho was a natural born leader, but he had to learn to step back when things were out of his hands. What would get him to accept this?

He didn’t get to ask when a wave of fatigue swept over him and he stumbled forward. He held his head as Yunho caught him, dizziness making everything spin. Was the dose wearing off already? No, he could still sense things around him, but the weakness worried him. What was causing it?

Jae flinched when he sensed the life force of the vampire change and looked over to see Kumi had driven her blade through his chest. He pushed out of Yunho’s arms as he moved toward her without thinking and dropped to his knees as she glanced up in surprise. He could feel the life leaving the vampire—could sense it right there in front of him for the taking. He didn’t even have to touch the vampire’s body as he reached out to feel it immediately flowing into him. His back arched and he gasped as he drew the life-force in, enjoying the heady feeling as it filled him. The scent of the blood even made him thirsty as he drank in the energy.

He fell back in shock when Kumi grabbed his arm and stared at him with wide eyes, taken aback by his behavior. He had been ready to lean over and she’d stopped him from getting near the blood. It was then he realized he was panting and took a breath to collect himself. He almost drank the vampire’s blood. If he’d imbibed enough, he would have turned into one.

“Move away,” she commanded as her eyes flashed, her voice making Jae want nothing more than to be anywhere but in her presence. He scrambled to get up and fled past Yunho to get away from her. He’d ruined her kill, she must have been furious. Jae jumped up into a tree to keep Yunho from trying to ask what had just happened. Kumi’s eyes had shaken him to the point that he just wanted to be alone. He slumped down on the branch and held his head. At least he’d found out why he was weakened—he manipulated his shields much more than usual. He would have to get used to this or else he’d be killing bears for more energy. Now he understood why the killing was so addictive. Stealing the energy was a very gratifying experience. Even now, he wanted to go back down to taste what he’d smelled and now knew this was a dangerous line he was walking.

“That was risky,” Yunho told Kumi once she was finished and Jae leaned over to see them.

“I didn’t know he could do that and I stopped him, what more do you want?” she asked in annoyance as she stood and pulled out her notebook to scribble down what Jae had done. “You can’t force him to do what you want. He’s not some princess that you can hide in a tower from the world.”

“I know that!” Yunho snapped.

Jae jumped down to land between them. “Are we done?” He refused to look at them. They were all being childish about this and he was sick of it. He wanted to go home.

“No.” The cool calm in her voice worried him and he glanced over to see her narrow her eyes. “You two spar.”

“What?!” was mixed with “Why?!” as the two men glared at one another.

“You’re stuck on this stuff for another four hours and it’s a good way to train,” she said icily as she scribbled in her notebook again. “Besides, it’ll help you work your anger off.” She gave them a look that Jae understood she meant business.

Yunho growled and fur exploded from him as he changed in anger. Lover or not, Jae decided he was going to pummel the hell out of Yunho.

Kumi supervised from the ground as they pretty much beat the crap out of each other. Jae was far from good with fighting skills, having only started training recently, but Yunho often let his feelings get the better of him and Jae got lucky punches in. By the end of it, they were completely worn out, their anger smoldering weakly below the surface. Kumi made them walk the entire way back and by the time they returned, Jae’s dose didn’t have much longer to linger. Neither did his anger.

When they arrived, they found Yunho’s friends had taken the moving truck to his new place and were already moving things in. Too tired and hungry to complain, the two went inside and ate in silence as Yunho’s father and Hyebin watched concerned. They could tell the two weren’t happy with one another. Kumi, completely unfazed, casually filed her nails in the corner. She must have been used to people around her fighting like idiots, and very politely turned down the offer of a cup of tea from Hyebin.

Once finished, Jae went straight to Yunho’s empty room to pack his things. He hadn’t decided if he would spend the night with Yunho or go home, but he was leaning heavily toward home. A night alone would help them cool down. He could feel Yunho behind him and glanced at the bed that remained in the empty room.

“Not taking the bed? Gonna sleep outside with the dogs?” he asked to hear Yunho snort.

“A new one was delivered to my new place. They got bored and put it together already,” Yunho told him and shifted. “Come on, if we don’t get there, they’ll start unpacking all my embarrassing things for me.

Jae sighed and picked up his bag to follow. Kumi was still near the door and slipped the file into her pocket. He had to wonder if she always had it on her person and why. She followed them out and walked at Jae’s elbow.

“I’ll be back Sunday,” she told him and disappeared so Jae couldn’t argue. He pursed his lips and didn’t bother cursing as he got into Yunho’s car. He’d let Aaron drive his car over to Yunho’s new place so he couldn’t escape. Today sucked.

“Can you take me home?” Jae asked and noticed Yunho hesitate before he started the car.

“Why?” he asked quietly as he put the car into gear.

“I just want some time alone,” he muttered unable to meet Yunho’s gaze. He stared out the window as the car began to move, not surprised when he didn’t get an answer. He also wasn’t surprised that when they got to town, Yunho didn’t drive in the direction of his home. Jae bit back a sigh and assumed this meant they had to talk—if he didn’t go straight to his car to leave. They’d never fought like this before. He knew a talk was going to be interesting. Once they arrived, most of their friends had dispersed, but Aaron and a few others remained.

“How was it?” He handed Yunho his backpack as he glanced at Jae who nodded and stopped as Aaron handed him the necklace and his keys. Jae took them with quiet thanks and stepped away as he wondered if he should put the necklace back on.

“Can I tell you later?” Yunho held his hand out.

“That bad, huh?” Aaron handed over the keys and shook his head. “Call me if you need anything, man.”

“I will. Thanks for taking over for me. I really appreciate it.” Yunho told him as they hugged.

“Gonna miss you on the res,” Aaron replied.

“You’ll see me every week,” Yunho teased.

Jae glanced away from the farewell, wondering if they should have been having a party instead. He thanked the guys for their help and silently went up to slip into the loft and kept himself from watching the private moment between Yunho and his friends. As he glanced around, he had to hand it to Yunho. The wolf had picked something much better than he expected.

The space of the loft was larger than he’d anticipated, and had a large, undivided main floor and then a smaller upper level that looked like it had become Yunho’s bedroom, for lack of a better word. It wasn’t really sectioned off and didn’t have any walls. Jae wondered if that was a good or bad thing.

The door latched, echoing off the walls as Jae dropped his bag next to the stairs that led up to the second landing. No point putting it up by the new bed if he didn’t know whether he was staying for long or not. He stared at the necklace in his hand again. Would it be giving up his position on the matter if he put it on again?

“So, you waste all your energy and then just steal it from a dying vampire?” Yunho asked from the door.

Jae bristled at his dark tone. “What if I told you that your turning into a wolf bothered me?”

“That’s completely different,” Yunho retorted as he advanced on Jae.

“Oh? Seems weird to me!” Jae snapped as he turned to face Yunho.

“Being a wolf is in my blood! I can’t change it!” he replied getting louder. “I can’t change my DNA, but the stuff you drink isn’t a part of you. It’s not right!”

“You saw me out there! I can do and sense things that I can’t when I’m like this.” Jae thumped a fist on his chest. “I can help! I was good!”

Yunho shook his head vehemently, but Jae could see that his eyes were torn. He didn’t want to admit Jae might be right. “You shouldn’t be doing this! You shouldn’t be so reckless!”

“Stop trying to run my life!”

“I’m not running your life, I’m just—aargh!” Yunho threaded his fingers in his hair, tugging at it frustrated. “Why won’t you listen to me, damnit?”

“Because I can do what I damn well please!” Jae replied. “Stop acting like I’m yours to protect!”

“But you are!” Yunho protested and Jae almost growled.

He grabbed Yunho and pinned him against the wall that was the side of the stairs. “Stop acting like the tough guy. I can be tough and in control too, if that’s what you’re going for.” He paused when he realized how close they were. “I think this pack leader thing has gone to your head.”

Yunho narrowed his eyes at that. “You think I’m controlling you?” He snorted angrily and looked away.

Jae refused to admit that was hot. “Can you admit that I performed well today during the hunt?”

“Yes,” Yunho grumbled, barely audible.

Jae grabbed Yunho’s chin to catch his gaze. “Then respect my decision.”

Yunho didn’t like it at all—Jae could tell. Maybe he needed a lesson—a different lesson on the idea that Jae could control things just as much as him. Compromise just wasn’t going to work today.

“Stupid wolf,” he muttered. “Stop being so damn stubborn.” He pushed Yunho against the wall and kissed him—hard. He didn’t expect it when Yunho kissed back, intensifying the contact. At least he wasn’t the only one turned on by their ridiculous fighting.

“Stupid, reckless,” Yunho muttered against his lips before Jae claimed them again.

“Stubborn wolf,” Jae grumbled in reply and gripped Yunho’s shirt. He just wasn’t patient enough to unbutton it. With a tug, he ripped it open and ignored the sounds of the buttons hitting the floor as he slid his tongue past Yunho’s lips. He didn’t have to be a genius to know how much the action had turned Yunho on as he could feel it obvious against his hip.

“Fuck,” Yunho cursed as Jae rolled their hips together then shut Yunho up with another deep kiss.

When Yunho finally broke the kiss to tug Jae’s shirt off, he knew it was time to relocate. Abandoning the piece of clothing, Jae grabbed one side of Yunho’s collar and dragged him around and up the stairs, over to the waiting bed. He threw his lover down on it and took the necklace in his hand to wrap it around his wrist before he crawled atop Yunho, immediately going for the young man’s nipples, teasing them with his teeth as he undid Yunho’s jeans.

“Condoms,” he mumbled before licking around Yunho’s navel.

“Backpack, on stairs,” Yunho replied, as he glanced down, his eyes dark with lust.

Jae crawled back up to catch his gaze, giving him one of his own. “Stay,” he commanded, his eyes conveying the message.

“Woof,” Yunho replied before Jae stole another deep kiss. Did he have to admit that was hot?

He left the bed to retrieve the bag and opened it to be pleasantly surprised. He found it completely full of boxes of condoms and a random assortment of bottles, with a note:

—Please try not to break anything when you christen the place, okay?—

Jae couldn’t promise anything. He was going to try his best to break Yunho tonight—if Yunho could be broken that is. Returning, he tossed a box and a bottle on the bed and stripped his pants off.

“Hot,” Yunho growled and Jae reached down and ripped Yunho’s pants down off his legs. “Hey! Careful of sensitive things!” he snapped, his angry expression only turning Jae on more.

Jae could only smirk and reply, “Hot.” He crawled up his lover’s body and kissed him before he could articulate a reply. He didn’t bother fighting when Yunho rolled them over to take the top because that was when Yunho started nibbling over his neck and collarbones. A moan escaped him as his fingers dragged through Yunho’s hair. He then waited impatiently as Yunho rid them of their underwear and decided to lick up the neck that hovered right in front of his face. He smirked as he nibbled over the line he’d licked.

“Stop distracting me or I’ll never get these off!” Yunho grumbled as Jae smirked and shifted down a little to help him. He also paused to lick over one of Yunho’s nipples which earned him a light gasp, enjoying the way it echoed off the walls. He liked this new place. It was too bad the bed didn’t creak, but he also liked that Yunho decided to get him back by nibbling at a spot on the left side of his neck. He didn’t bother fighting with Yunho attached his lips to the spot, biting and sucking alternately. He wouldn’t be able to see it, but he knew a red spot would be there soon enough.

Once Yunho disengaged, Jae rolled his body to take the top again and stole a kiss before he smirked. “Thought you weren’t into the blood thing,” he teased.

“I’m all for yours,” Yunho drew him closer, nuzzling his temple and breathing in deeply. “You have no idea how good you smell, even if it is different today.”

Jae bit back a moan and swore it was pheromones and Yunho’s sense of smell as he sat upright and grabbed the box next to them. He pouted when Yunho sat up and stole the box from him with a grin. The pout, however, melted away when Yunho stole a kiss and then began dropping more down his neck, pausing to nip and suck at spots as he tore the box open. Although Yunho’s skills at distraction were highly appreciated, Jae still enjoyed the feel of Yunho’s fingers over his sensitive skin as he applied the condom. He didn’t bother complaining when Yunho took a break from his assault to grab the bottle as Jae found it a welcome moment to learn how to breathe properly again.

When he could think again, Jae snatched the bottle from Yunho and pushed his lover back down on the bed to shift down between his legs. He didn’t even have to think after that, he just went through the motions as he got both of them ready. Jae couldn’t ignore the heated stare from his lover though, urging him to move faster. He didn’t bother to ask as Yunho wrapped his legs around him. Jae bent closer as he pressed himself in, leaning down to drop kisses over his lover’s chest. It was a pity he couldn’t reach Yunho’s lips even when he was fully in, but he wasn’t sure he wanted to hinder the sounds and words escaping. He could however reach his lover’s collar bones and nibbled at them and places all over Yunho’s chest as he began to move. Care was lost to need as Jae gave up on placing hickeys on his lover’s chest and moved his hips faster, thrusting harder. And if he could roll his hips just so—there—Yunho moaned as his fingers gripped the sheets tightly and Jae smirked at the fact that he remembered.

Again he rolled his hips to get Yunho to arch up against him and heard his own voice echoing off of the walls as he felt his climax approaching. However close he was, he knew Yunho was closer, and kept moving his hips just that way to hear his lover’s voice joining his. Jae wrapped a hand around Yunho’s cock, moving it in time to his thrusts as he heard his name followed by a curse. After that, Yunho was gone and Jae gritted his teeth before he gasped at Yunho tightening around him. Taking advantage of it, Jae thrust faster and pushed himself over the edge, still moving as his body shuddered and he came inside of his lover.

Riding the high, Jae panted against Yunho’s chest and shivered when his lover flexed his muscles around the still sensitive member inside of him. He hummed contently when Yunho’s hands that had been resting on his back began to travel over his skin, tracing over his tattoo slowly. Now he was definitely content.

“We need to fight more often,” Jae murmured to hear his lover chuckle. He should have taken that bet with Kumi.

“You need to take the lead more often when I don’t want to give it up,” Yunho replied and kissed the top of his head. “Because the results when you do are worth it.”

Jae could hear the smile in his lover’s voice and hummed in agreement. “I might have to take you up on that.”

“I look forward to it.” Yunho waited as Jae shifted out of him and disposed of the condom. He then pulled the young man into a tight hug when he returned to the bed, and Jae didn’t really mind staying the rest of the week.

“About the vampire thing…” Jae trailed off, wondering what to say.

“I’m sorry I acted like an ass.” Yunho’s sigh ruffled his hair. “I shouldn’t be forcing you to do what I want you to.”

“You’re forgiven. Sorry I didn’t tell you to begin with.” Jae nuzzled Yunho’s chest as he felt exhaustion catch up with him.

“I forgive you,” Yunho murmured and tilted Jae’s chin up. “Promise to spar with me again?”

Jae grinned and accepted a kiss. “Promise not to hold back next time?”

Yunho grinned. “Deal.”

Jae topping anyday is a GOOD day,
whether or not there's a fight involved.

i am curious, however, where exactly you're taking this.
i mean, i'm pretty sure jae isn't training so hard
just to have a happily ever after.

I love the plot foundations you've put up so far,
but im also just waiting for when things go apeshTick,
you know?

still wonderful chapter, as always 8D
